Education Services
We provide on-site classes for CCL (Discern Explorer) programming and Cerner
system administration:
- Beginner CCL: Overview of CCL program documentation, CCL structure,
editor, and compiler; printing and reading table definitions and the usage
of keys in tables; writing programs using simple join functions and
sorting; creating exception reports and using basic report writer
functions; overview of native CCL functions.
- Intermediate CCL: Complex joins with OUTERJOIN,
DONTCARE, and DONTEXIST; using advanced report writer
features; creating and updating flat and indexed tables; downloading and
uploading files; manipulating data from imported (uploaded) data files.
- DBA: Adding/deleting CCL users to groups; CCL usage of directories
for programs and data files; suggestions for setting up a change
management system; troubleshooting the CCL environment; setting up CCL
programs to run from operations and/or batch queues; writing CCL menu
programs to launch other programs.
- System Management: print queues; managers and servers; foreign
system interfaces; directory structure; monitoring system resources;
helpful VMS commands and command procedures.
